Police and Lawyers, folks who know their rights, don’t talk to the police. Why should you?

If arrested, the police will cite the Miranda Warning, which reads,

“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you by the court. With these rights in mind, are you still willing to talk with me about the charges against you?”

Okay, so what you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.  So that’s good to know.  Remember that!!!  Because what you tell the police, under rules of evidence, is considered hearsay in a court of law and CANNOT BE USED ON YOUR BEHALF!!!
