Making Money

GOAL SETTING @ $5,000/MONTH

If your goal is to earn an additional $5,000 a month, view that goal this way:

2 products or services sold for $2500 each
5 products or services sold for $1000 each
10 products or services sold for $500 each
20 products or services sold for $250 each

There are a hundred, a thousand, and more ways to make money.  One, you want to make money, so that you don’t end up in jail.  Two, you should make money in ways that actually help people.  Teaching is a great way that satisfies that criterion, but it doesn’t mean that you have to teach in public or private schools.  You can also teach online.

WHAT TO DO?

Life insurance.

BOOK IDEA #1:  BOOK THAT PROVIDES INFO ON CASINO CAMPGROUNDS IN YOUR STATE

For an RV’er traveling across the country, knowing the location of these casino campgrounds in each state, along with a map showing how to get to it, contact info, and a brief review would be a book they’d be interested in.

A quick check at Amazon shows that such a book exists, but it might be out of date. If you created a better book, one that was easier to use and in paper-back form, it could become a best seller in the RV market.

BOOK IDEA #2:
Real estate sales.  Substantive or developmental editing. Formatting and fact-checking. Copyediting.

MAKING MONEY ONLINE: IS IT POSSIBLE?
1.  Paid Social Media Jobs.
2.  Yaro Starak to date (2016) is the best presenter on how to make money blogging.  It’s not like he shows you advertising tricks or what widgets make you money and none of those sales-y type of speils.  To the contrary, his presentation does almost go step by step.  You should know first that the blog itself is merely a platform for your digital tools, like e-book, podcasts, e-letters, white papers, what have you.  The blog is not the end-all and be-all, you build it, set it, and it starts making you a passive income.  That model is a lie, always has been a lie, one that some people have profited handsomely from.  Give Yaro a listen and see if blogging is for you.  See if you can commit yourself to such projects.
3.  Social Media Manager.

taken from the book, The Secret Of Selling Anything, by Harry Browne, which is one of Dr. North’s recommended readings.

“If the secret of selling is to appeal to this prospect’s motivation, your first task must be to find out what that motivation is.

“Most sales are lost because the salesman presented his product before he knew what motivated his prospect. That’s unrealistic. Don’t think in terms of your selling something; think, instead, that the prospect is going to buy something. He’s the one who has the purchasing power and will make the decision. And he’s the one who will decide how the decision will be made.

“He’s going to buy something. So the first goal is to find out what he’d be willing to buy. It’s as simple as that.

“Step number one of any sales interview should be to discover the prospect’s motivation.”

Gary North has several forums on his site, Specific Answers.  On it, he has two forums about money-making ideas: one is called “One Good Idea” and the other is “Bright Ideas.”  The latter is better for money-making concepts.  Let me reprint a few here:

1.  Vehicle-sized Ziploc bags.
2.  YouTube Reviewers.
3.  Make 10x your cost.

The lesson to be learned here is to find a niche market like RV, Boat or Camper owners, find out what small easy-to-ship parts they all use and need replacing over time, and build you a small online business that offered them the things they need.

Use Alibaba to source the products, and sell on Amazon, eBay, and your own website.

So what is the easiest product to sell online?

That’s easy. Whatever people with money want or need to buy.

4.  Portable Scanner.  Applications:

The conclusion to the article prompted the reader to come up with his/her own ideas of how to benefit from this product. I immediately tried to connect the dots and came up with the following suggestions: 1. Aging family photos 2. Valuables, such as jewelry, passport or documents for insurance purposes 3. Collections, such as coins, stamps, bugs, spoons or anything that fits the border restrictions of scan field 4. To digitize will and trust documents 5. Warranty booklets or user manuals that tend to get lost 6. To digitally archive hard copy articles 7. To digitize recipes from menu books and magazines that can be organized into a personal favorites recipe book 8. You or your child can create a scan business in the neighborhood for any of the above 9. Young student (ex. pre-school) crafts and art work scanned by teacher to digitally share with parent 10. Wallet contents, such as credit cards, medical or membership cards and driver’s license 10 ideas is enough for now. I’ll think of 10 more as soon as I post. This capability allows you to create the equivalent of a visual Evernote archive. The possibilities are a game changer for all the suggested ideas that make up the bits and pieces of our lives. This would make a great gift for your children or grandchildren. The only drawback is 6 months ship time. Maybe it will be available through Amazon someday soon, along with their more professional scanners. Stay tuned.

I’ve used my consumer-grade copier/printer/scanner for years to scan old documents into pdf’s that could then be stored, archived, uploaded or distributed (usually to interested immediate family and friends), but one of the biggest roadblocks was dealing with documents that are larger than letter size (8″ X 11″). This invention looks like it will handle legal size (8″ X 14″) and possibly even tabloid size. I would buy one for that capability alone.
