Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassination, April 4, 1968

King’s dates are January 15, 1929 to April 4, 1968, where he was murdered at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.  LBJ could have easily been involved in the planning and funding of his murder.

WHO WAS JAMES EARL RAY?

1:00.  Hunley reminds us that MLK’s legacy has been trashed somewhat with his principles of knowing one’s character and not being judged by one’s color of their skin is being downgraded by BLM and the woke community want the world to precisely emphasize skin color and race.  Everything that he’s done is being currently undone.

1:30.  Groubert points out that MLK was being besmirched late in his career anyway.  I0n ’65, ’66, ’67 he was being outflanked by Stokely Carmichael and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and he was being ridiculed by younger Turks . . . in separate movements who wanted him out of the way and they may have had some reason to believe that because they felt that nonviolence was not going to cut it.  So there was a lot of people against him then politically.

Well, Malcolm X and he were at it each other’s throats.

Malcolm X was just one of them.  I mean there were others besides Malcolm X who were opposed to Martin Luther King.

By 1966, MLK had turned against the war in Vietnam.  [What or who caused him to take a public position against the war?] On April 4, 1967, he gave a speech at the Riverside Church in New York titled “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence,” and that, not only did it split the movement, it split the movement of white people and black people who didn’t want to go against the war who were more focused on segregation and housing and voting rights and did not want him to go down that road.  There were many who were in favor of the war who were also in the civil rights movement. King was the first guy to come out against the war.  Not true.  Malcolm X, slain in 1965, became a threat to the establishment when he became vocal about the war in Vietnam.
